Charles S. Ferris, Sr., 75, a resident of Huron, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Atchison Hospital.

Funeral services will be on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services with interment at a later date in the Old Huron Cemetery. Charles was born March 15, 1942, in Clingan, Kansas, the son of Paul and Sylvia (Higby) Ferris. He attended Cummings Elementary and Atchison County Community High School.

He and the former Linda Joyce Clem were united in marriage on April 27, 1962, at the Methodist Church in Dearborn, Missouri.

Charles was self-employed, working with drywall and as a painter. He previously was employed at Ft. Leavenworth and Worlds of Fun.

He was a member of the former First Christian Church, in Huron.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Ferris, of the home in Huron, KS, five daughters, Tammy Milligan, Omaha, NE, Robin (Jeff) Minard, Falls City, NE, Lori (Chad) Ferris, Eureka Spring, AR, Denise (Michael) Miller, Atchison, KS, Jennifer Ferris, Topeka, KS, two sons, Jeff (Tina) Ferris, Falls City, NE, Chuck (Sandra) Ferris, Falls City, NE, a brother, Bill Ferris, Purcell, KS, a sister, Mary Lou Felton, Atchison, KS, twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Jim, LeRoy, Paul Jr., Tom, David and Herbie Ferris
