Lorna Mae Graves, 88, of Topeka, KS passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born March 21, 1929 in Delia, KS the daughter of Thomas Henry and Nora Louise (Loughmiller) Perry.

 Lorna Mae grew up on her family farms in Emmett, south of Bucks Grove and Havensville. She attended Havensville High School.

 Lorna Mae stayed home with her children until her youngest child went to school. She then worked for Northland Dept. Store, in the snack bar; she worked 5 years in the kitchen at Seaman School District and later for The Manor nursing home. Lorna Mae also worked for McFarland Restaurant, baking and setting up the salad bar, retiring after 13 years.

  She was active in 4-H and was manager for the 4-H snack bar at the fair grounds for 3 years. She joined the American Legion Post 400 in 1976, serving as president, vice-president and secretary. She also became manager of the snack bar and had also helped with dinners; she was active until her health declined.

  Lorna Mae married Ora “Dale” Graves on June 13, 1947 in Havensville. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Sipes; 3 brothers, Leroy, Bob and Lawrence “Larry” Perry.

 Survivors include a son, Doulas Graves (Dotty) of Topeka, KS; 4 daughters, Linda Graves-Leonard of Topeka, KS, Connie Graves-Knebel (Denny) of Highland, IL, Debbie Graves-Tillotson (Buddy) of Highland, IL and Cherie Graves-Herring (Jr.) of Kechi, KS; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

 Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Penwell Gabel Cemetery in Topeka.
