Merle L. Marmet

Merle L. Marmet, 86, of Topeka, KS, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Rossville Nursing Home. He was born July 18, 1931 on a farm north of Sabetha, KS the son of Wesley and Viola (Enchelberger) Marmet.

          Merle graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1949 at Salem, NE. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the United States Post Office in Topeka; retiring in 1986.

          He was an active member of the Soldier Christian Church for many years.

          Merle married Mary Ann Wagner on October 7, 1953 in Humbolt, NE. She survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 daughters, Susan Diehl (Mike) of Sanger, TX and Linda Powell (Bruce) of Topeka, KS; 2 brothers, Marion Marmet of Sabetha, KS and Paul Marmet of Topeka, KS; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

          He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Marmet.

          Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Soldier Cemetery.
