Edward “Tim” Louis Mackey

Edward “Tim” Louis Mackey, 67 years of age, of Falls City was born on July 14, 1950, in Falls City, Nebraska to Oscar Franklin and Nora Neva (Murphy) Mackey. Tim was raised in Falls City where he had all of his schooling.  In 1968, he was united in marriage to Carol Volz.  Tim served his country in the U.S. Army from October 26, 1967 until being honorably discharged on May 30, 1969 from Fort Lewis in Washington.  After returning home to Falls City, Tim worked various jobs including construction, employment with B & N Railroad, and as a roughneck in the oil wells.  In 2012, Tim was united in marriage to Colleen Gilbert.  The couple made their home in Falls City where Tim at one time was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.  Tim had a deep affection for his grandkids and great-grandkids.  He loved family cookouts and spending time with his family.  Tim passed away at his home in Falls City on Monday, April 2, 2018, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, eight months, and nineteen days.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Doris Mackey-Phroper, an infant brother Oscar Jr. Mackey, brothers: Ted (Ann), Oscar Jr. (Wilma), Kenneth (Marilyn), Clifford, Jerry, and Billy Mackey, and a grandson Eric Kelz.

Tim is survived by his wife Colleen Mackey of Falls City, children: Karen (Jon) Dunlap of Falls City, Kimberly (Geoff) Zimmerman of Falls City, Jason (Teresa) Mackey of Falls City, Jarred Mackey of North Carolina, Kris (Stephanie) Koerperich of Hiawatha, KS; Joshua (Teal) Koerperich of Robinson, KS; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Marvin (Dana) Mackey of Americus, KS; brother-in-law Michael Phroper of Falls City, sister-in-law Claudia Gebhart of Gardener, KS; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4- 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the V.F.W. Club in Falls City, Nebraska. 

A register book will be available for signing from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City.

A Graveside Inurnment will be held later at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City with full military honors conducted.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.  A memorial fund has been established at Frontier Bank in Falls City.
