Marilyn Mildred Oltjen Anthony, 83, passed away on April 22, 2018, at The South Pines In Hiawatha.

She was born October 22, 1934 in Robinson, Kansas. The daughter of Emmett and Margaret (Fiechter) Oltjen who preceded her in death.

She attended Meadowbrook Country School, Robinson High School and Kansas State University.

She married James B. Anthony, from Smith Center on December 23, 1955 in Robinson, James preceded her in death on December 15, 2010.

Marilyn was an elementary education teacher for 35 years in Colorado. Upon retiring, they moved to Smith Center, Kansas. She enjoyed animals especially her cats. After Jim’s passing she moved to Hiawatha to be close to her family.

She was the youngest of 5 siblings, two brothers proceeded her in death, John and Robert Oltjen.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Max (Marilyn) Oltjen of Hiawatha and a sister Twila Rector of Leavenworth, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are planned for Saturday April 28, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Upper Wolf Lutheran Church Southeast of Robinson. Inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services at the church.
