Lonnie Bennett, 65, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, June 4, 2018, at Atchison Medicalodge.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Vernon Winfrey and Rev. Thomas Stone officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 8th from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the church.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Lonnie was born February 4, 1953, in Luverne, Alabama, the son of John D. Bennett and Annie L. Wilkinson. He attended schools in Topeka and Atchison.

He was employed by the Salvation Army in Atchison for many years until his health failed.

Lonnie was a member of Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Atchison. In his spare time he loved to hunt and fish.

(Dahl) Bennett, Houston, TX, Leroy Bennett, Topeka, KS, Danny Bennett, Las Vegas, NV, Curtis Wilkinson, Cheyenne, WY, Charles Wilkinson, Atlanta, GA, six sisters, Mary Bennett, Casper, WY, Angie Bennett-Dortsch, Topeka, KS, Renee (Mark) Hill, Ft. Worth, TX, Carol (Steve) Brown, Leavenworth, KS, Christina Wilkinson, Greenville, SC, Cora Jean Clark, St. Joseph, MO, an aunt, Bessie Oliver, Montgomery, AL, five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna L. Wilkinson and J.D. Bennett, a daughter, Lonnetta Williams, two brothers, Ronnie Bennett, Dewayne Bennett and a sister Linda Bennett.
