Everett Moulden

Everett Carl Moulden, 82, of Alamo, TX, formerly of Holton, KS passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, TX. He was born July 18, 1936 in Compton, CA the son of Everett E. and Carlina (Gomez) Moulden.

 Everett graduated from Soldier High School in 1954. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 – 1973. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Fifth Good Conduct Medal Award for period ending 06-04-1973.

Everett worked various jobs until 1977, when he started for the United States Postal Service in Topeka as Lead Mechanic in vehicle maintenance. He later retired in 1998 after 19 years.

 He was a life-time member of Holton V.F.W. Post 1367 and Holton American Legion Post 44.

 Everett married Patricia Galene Pittenger on October 31, 1954 in Holton. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2011, after 56 years of marriage. He later married Arleta Vanourney on April 30, 2012 in Holton, KS and settled in Alamo, TX; she survives of the home.

 Other survivors include 2 sons, Mickeal Moulden and Mark Moulden (Tammy) both of Holton, KS; a daughter, Tracy Farmer of O’Fallon, MO; a brother, William Moulden (Eula) of Wakarusa, KS; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Roark (Alex), Jared and Joshua Moulden, Blake Moulden (Rachel), Audrey Cox (Brian) and Jordan Farmer; 6 great-grandchildren, Maggie Jo, Beau and Thomas Moulden, Ellis and Cooper Cox and Sebastian Roark; a ½ brother, Bobby Moulden (Judy) and a ½ sister, Linda Moulden.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Olive Hill Cemetery.
