Ronnie Dean Meyers, 47, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 in an automobile accident west of Hiawatha on U.S. Highway 36.

He was born on May 31, 1971 in Horton, Kansas the son of Rodney and Valerie Madere Meyers. Ronnie graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1990.

He worked for Schenck Process LLC in Sabetha, Kansas for over 24 years. Ronnie served the Hiawatha and Horton communities as a coach and mentor for many years. He was especially dedicated to the Hiawatha Youth Football team, Hiawatha Youth Softball, Nitro Softball, Hiawatha Baseball, Wresting and Youth Soccer.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Meyers of the home; 3 daughters, Kaitlin Meyers of Topeka, Kansas, JoLynn Grant of Hiawatha, Kansas and Bethany Meyers of Hiawatha, Kansas; 3 sons, Shawn Green, Tyler Meyers and Bo Smith all of Hiawatha, Kansas; brother, Ryan Greene of Mayetta, Kansas; one grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Smith.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, September 29 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Hiawatha, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Horton City Cemetery.
