Albert Edward Lutz, 88, of Atchison, Kansas passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Strickland officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery. Albert was born on July 9, 1930 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Carl H. Lutz, Sr. and Marie (Deichen) Lutz. He attended Independence Valley Elementary School and Atchison High School.

He and Doris McQuiston were united in marriage on April 10, 1948 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Doris preceded him in death on November 7, 2006.

Albert was employed as a machinist with Intercontinental Engineering and Manufacturing Company for fifteen years and also did carpentry work. He lived in Atchison until moving to St. Joseph, Missouri in 1975; he returned to Atchison in 1996.

He was a member of the National Guard and enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Steve) White, Basehor, KS, Karen (Robert) Anver, Kansas City, KS; two sons, Jim (Kathy) Lutz, Kansas City, MO, Tony Lutz, Wichita, KS; a sister, Rose Shrout, Atchison, KS; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Lutz; an infant son, David Lee Lutz; siblings, Virginia Lacy, Ruth Ellen Lanter, Jaunita Barclay and Carl H. Lutz, Jr.
