Nora Statler
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

Nora Lucille Statler, 74, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Highland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Highland, Kansas.

She was born on July 26, 1944 in Whitesburg, Kentucky the daughter of Earl and Jettie Calahan Caudill. After high school Nora served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Nora worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for a number of years prior to becoming self employed, helping her husband manage Statler Auto and Wrecker Service along with the video store in Horton, Kansas. She was a member of the Horton American Legion Post #7 and enjoyed arranging the Veteran's Day Parade. On July 26, 1986 she married Gerald Statler in Horton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2003.

Survivors include three sons, Steven (Coleen) Wilson of Conway, Arkansas, Ronnie Statler of Topeka, Kansas and Dennis (Gail) Statler of Horton, Kansas; a daughter, Debbie Shaw of Horton, Kansas; sister, Janetta Morgan of Clarksville, Tennessee; three brothers, Lloyd "Bud" Caudill of Cadiz, Kentucky, Lorne of Clarksville, Tennessee and Lynn Caudill of Oak Grove, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Teresa Wilson.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Horton City Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
