Deborah Paul, 52, Atchison, Kansas died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri from a brain aneurysm.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB officiating.  Visitation with the family will precede services on Wednesday, from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.  The body will be cremated following services with burial of the cremains at a later date at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warriors or Atchison Human Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Debbie was born September 7, 1966 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Kenneth and Carilyn (Lauffer) Blasi.  She attended Atchison Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Atchison High School.

She and David Joseph Paul were high school sweethearts but after graduation went their separate ways.  It was while they were attending their 25th high school reunion that they reunited and married on August 1, 2014.

Debbie was employed at Southwest Airlines for many years on the ramp and most recently serving in the provisionist department.

In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working puzzles, shopping and spending time with her husband, family and her pets.

She was a member of the Transport Workers Union Local #555.

Survivors include her husband, David; stepsons, Matthew J. (Autumn) Paul; Alexander J. Paul; and a grandson, Keaton Joseph Paul; her parents, Ken and Carilyn Blasi, all of Atchison, KS; brother, David (Kim) Blasi, Atchison, KS; sisters, Denise (Mike) Becerra, St. Joseph, MO; Dana (Paul) Weaver, Leavenworth, KS, and many nieces and nephews.

Debbie was the most generous, kind and friendliest person to anyone who knew her and was a true animal lover to her pets, Cassie and Hank.  She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dawn Blasi and paternal and maternal grandparents.
