Sandra “Sandi” Leone (Jelinek) Slama, 58, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on January 23, 1961 in Rockford, Illinois to Duane and Shirley (Ingram) Jelinek. She was raised in Palm Springs, California and attended Palm Springs High School.  Sandi later moved to Foster, Nebraska where she worked as a waitress for her uncle who owned the L & B Lounge.  She then moved to Humboldt, Nebraska where Sandi owned and operated The Cardinal Kitchen.  She later opened and ran a daycare/preschool at Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt.  Sandi was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Sandi passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 1, 2019, at her home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the age of fifty-eight years, eight months and nine days. She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley.  Sandi is survived by her father Duane Jelinek of Humboldt, son Jeremy (Gina) Bittner of Dawson, daughter Jessica (Dexter) Holliday of Dawson, 9 grandchildren, siblings: Diana (Kenny) Wieting of Pierce, John Jelinek of St. Joseph, MO, Jacqueline (Vonzetta) Jelinek of Laguna Hills, CA; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Sandi’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 71215  638 Avenue in Dawson, Nebraska.  Casual attire is requested.

Memorial contributions may be given to family’s choice with a later designation.
