Roscoe Warren “Slug” Daniels, 91, of McLouth, died Sunday, April 26, 2020 at F.W. Huston Memorial Hospital in Winchester.

He was born November 30, 1928 in the Dunavant Community of rural Winchester, the son of Roscoe Vasco and Della May Fidler Daniels. He grew up and raised his family on a farm near McLouth in Leavenworth County. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, working through Union Local #101 of Operating Engineers in Kansas City, MO. He also farmed and raised cattle for many years. He was a member of Mclouth First Baptist Church and the Local Union #101 retirees. 

He was married to Leota Mae Winfrey on December 26, 1949 at Stanwood Friends Church in the Stanwood Community of rural McLouth, She survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, Jim Daniels, Sunrise Beach, MO, John (Charlotte) Daniels, McLouth, two daughters, Delpha (Ron) Forshee, McLouth, Delia (John) Heston, Oskaloosa, one brother, Robert “Bob”    (Karen ) Daniels, Elk City, KS, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sue Haling, one sister, Vera Lee Karr and a brother, Victor Daniels.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at McLouth First Baptist Church. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 PM before Service at the church. Please note: Social distancing and precautions will be observed and masks are suggested. Burial will be at McLouth Cemetery. Memorials may be made to F.W. Huston Senior Living Center, McLouth First Baptist Church or to Jefferson County Friends of Hospice in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS, 66066.
