Vera A. (Bohling) Plager was born August 11, 1928 to John and Mary (Rogge) Bohling at Auburn, Nebraska.

She passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska at the age of 91 years.

Vera is survived by her husband Richard of Humboldt, daughter, Susan Klanecky and husband Bryan of Lincoln, daughter-in-law, Pam Plager of Table Rock, grandchildren, Lesley Slaymaker, Lisa Stevens and husband John, Joel Kerner, Russell Plager and wife Tiffany and Adam Klanecky, great-grandchildren,  Brooklyn and Evan Slaymaker, Tyler Stevens and  Thomas, Nolan and Jenna Plager,  sisters, Wilma Geyer of Humboldt and Marlene Alberts and husband Eiber of Auburn,  sisters-in-law, Carla Plager of Tecumseh and Lois Ann Bartels and husband Eldon of Elk Creek, brother-in-law Evert Boeck of Smith Center, KS, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gene Lee Plager, great-granddaughter, Kayla Stevens, brother Vern Bohling and wife Carol and sister Berniece Boeck and brothers-in-law Harlan Plager and Mervin Geyer. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Monday, May 11, 2020 at the St. James Lutheran (Long Branch) Cemetery, rural Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastors Eric and Amalia Spruth-Janssen officiating. The service will be radio broadcast and attendees will be asked to stay in their vehicles.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.   There will be no viewing at the church.

Memorials may go the family’s choice.

Interment will be in the St. James Lutheran (Long Branch) Cemetery, rural Humboldt, Nebraska.
