Carol Gentry, 78, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 9, 2020 at Hiawatha, KS. She was born September 5, 1941 at Rulo, NE to Ralph and Alida (Roberts) Goolsby.

She married Donald Lee Gentry on May 22, 1960 at Rulo. He passed away December 25, 1993.

Carol was raised at Rulo and graduated Reserve High School in 1959. When married the couple established their home in Falls City. She started working for Community Action, which became Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and she was the program director for many years until she retired in 2006. She was also her husband’s primary caretaker after he became disabled and was very family oriented. She had attended Trinity Methodist Church at Rulo and was a member of the Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad.

Carol is survived by her sons, Don “Pud” of St. Joseph, MO, Michael of Falls City, Steven of Shawnee, KS, Bryan of Kansas City, KS, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Jo Vogt and Phyllis Idol.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Young Je Kim officiating. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery.

Open visitation and viewing will begin Thursday afternoon. Please bring for your own pen for sanitary purposes.
