Gail Phroper, 60, of Cortland, NE, passed away May 13, 2020 at Beatrice, NE. She was born July 9, 1959 at Rock Port, MO to Richard and Irma (Kohler) Smith.

She married Ted Phroper on April 3, 1978 at Hiawatha, KS. He passed away May 22, 2017.

Gail graduated Falls City High School. When married the couple lived in various places until settling in Cortland. She was a foster parent and daycare provider. She worked as a bookkeeper for her husband business, Kleen Building Service and at the time of her death she was an in home health aide, helping those in need.

Gail is survived by her children, Mandy Mueller and her husband Ben, Brandy Keller and her husband Justin, both of Eustis, NE, Samantha Vernon and her husband Dustin of Lincoln, NE, D’Angelo Phroper of Cortland, brother, Allan Smith of Colorado and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Steele Cemetery with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating.
