Keith Keo
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary of Horton

Keith F. Keo, 88, of the Kickapoo Reservation, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his home.

He was born on October 4, 1931 on the Kickapoo Reservation, the son of David and Mildred Anderson Keo.  Keith married Aileen Wahwassuck and they later divorced he then married Nellie Cadue they also later divorced.

Keith was a farmer and was instrumental in starting the Kickapoo Tribal Farm with cattle and buffalo, on the Kickapoo Reservation. He was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe, served on the tribal council as chairman, worked with the housing authority, loved Pow-Wow's, singing and the Royals.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorene Keo of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Maureen Keo of the home, on the Kickapoo Reservation; three sons, Rudy Keo of the Kickapoo Reservation, Dennis Keo of Fort Totten, North Dakota and Ronald Keo of the Kickapoo Reservation; brother, James Keo of Horton, Kansas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jackie Keo and brother, Theodore Masquat.

Drum Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will be at 7:00 A.M. on Sunday morning at the Anderson-Negonsott Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation.
