Angela " Angie" Heaton

Angela “Angie” Sue Heaton, 60, of Horton KS passed away on July 8, 2020 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.

She was born on October 24, 1959 in Horton KS, daughter of Marvin “Minnie” and Leone (Potter) Elkins.

Angie started her working career at the Horton Greenhouse working alongside her dad. Angie worked for the Tri-County Manor in several capacities for 32 years.  Angie the assisted with the care of her Uncle Glenn Cook until his passing. She also worked at The Lemon Tree Floral and Gifts on and off for countless years.  Angie married John Heaton at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas, they later divorced.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She leaves behind her sister-by-choice Patti Biegler, Niece Jillian Davis, and Nephew Gary Davis. Cousins Jo Ellen Wilson, Mike Sechler, Steve Sechler, Sue Foley, and many other friends and honorary family members.

Angie was known as ‘Auntie Ang’ by many honorary nieces and nephews that loved her very much, as she loved them. Angie was very well known in the community for her kind heart and willingness to help others. She was also well-known for her sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. Angie will be missed dearly as she was loved deeply by her friends, family, and the community. “Love you to the moon and back…Forever and ever, Amen.”~Auntie Ang.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the Horton Cemetery on Saturday, July 11, 2020.

Friends may call on Friday at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Angie Heaton memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
