Richard Leon Hamlin, 76, of Circleville, KS, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Topeka, KS. He was born June 28, 1944 in Holton, KS the son of Ralph and Erma (Myers) Hamlin.

Richard graduated from Circleville High School in 1962. He proudly served in the United States Air Force at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware from 1962 – 1968. After active duty, Richard joined the Air National Guard at Forbes Field in Topeka, KS, working in the personnel department. He retired as Chief Master Sargent in 1994.

He was a member of the Circleville Masonic Lodge.

Richard was united in marriage to Cheryl Kay Luscombe on October 3, 1971in Holton, KS. They shared over 48 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2020. He was also preceded by 3 brothers; Kenneth, Robert and Donald Hamlin and a sister, Bonnie Burns.

 Survivors include; 4 children, Tina Kerr (Jason) of Topeka, KS, Jeanette Hamlin of Circleville, KS, Jamie Bowser (Bryan) of Holton, KS and Brent Zibell (Heidi) of Holton, KS; sister-in-law Geraldine Hamlin of Hoyt, KS; 8 grandchildren, Dylan, Rylie and Ryann Bowser, Erika Bohnenkemper (Caleb), Chaz Zibell, Cortlin Kerr, Cooper Hamlin and Adalyn Hamlin-Whisler and 1 great-granddaughter, Avery Myers.

Memorial Graveside Service with Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Holton Cemetery. A register book will be available at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Senior Citizens.
