Alice Doyle-Lindemuth

Alice Elizabeth Doyle-Lindemuth, age 87 of Topeka, KS, peacefully passed away Friday, March 18, 2022.  Alice was born February 15, 1935 in Oneida, KS, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Osterhaus) Krogman.

She graduated from Denison High School in 1952. Alice worked for Hallmark Cards for over 25 years. She was a member of Mother Teresa Calcutta Catholic Church, Women of the Moose Lodge No. 555, Hallmark Retirement Club, and Swinging Squares Square Dance Club.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, step mother, aunt and so much more including many talents as an expert crocheter, flower arranger and a championship pie-maker. Her caring heart and generous nature will be greatly missed.

She married James T. Doyle on July 27, 1953; they celebrated over 37 years of marriage before his passing on February 6, 1991.  She was also predeceased by her second husband, Richard E. Lindemuth (d. 2002), her brother Paul Krogman (d. 2020), infant daughter, Linda Kay (d.1957) and son-in-law Doug Stanley (d. 2013).

Alice is survived by two sons, James A. Doyle (Anita) of Overbrook, KS and Gregory L. Doyle of Seattle, WA; one daughter Sheryl A. Stanley of Goddard, KS; one brother Robert Krogman of Holton, KS; three sisters Gladys Law of Topeka, KS, Mary Ann Turner (Roger) of Deming, NM and Judy Barrow (Bill) of Holton, KS; eight grandchildren, Katie Potter (Clayton), Amanda Stanley, Chris Stanley (Elizabeth), Rachel Stanley-Williams (Ray), Diana Stanley, Kristen Bretsnyder (Dusty), Peter Doyle, and James Doyle; nine great-grandchildren and a large extended family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Topeka, KS. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Rosary to follow at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. Luncheon will be served immediately following Mass. Burial will be after the luncheon at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Holton, KS. Alice will lie-in-state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
