Harold R. Kolbek, 90, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at The Pines in Holton. He was born June 8, 1933 in Silver Lake, KS, the son of John Frank and Mattie May (Viles) Kolbek.

Harold graduated from Hoyt High School in 1951. He worked for Walter Bennett Plumbing and Heating for 4 years and for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for over 34 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a Scout Master for Troop #64 in Holton for 5 years.

Harold married Betty Marie Lacey on July 26, 1951 in Holton, KS. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2014, after 63 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Mattie Kolbek; 1 sister, Karen White and 2 brothers, John and Raymond Kolbek.

Survivors include 3 children, Terry L. Kolbek (Debbie) of Topeka, KS, Michael Kolbek (Roxann) of Silver Lake, KS and Donna Griffin of Topeka, KS and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Holton Cemetery. Harold will lie in state Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 6 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
