Hobart Keith “Deak” Herries, 91, McLouth, KS, died Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his home.

He was born September 22, 1931 at McLouth, the son of Hobart Henry and Inez Imogene Chapman Herries. He was a 1950 graduate of McLouth High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from April 11, 1952 to April 2, 1956 and was stationed in Germany as a radio relay mechanic. He worked 44 years as a lineman and line foreman for Leavenworth-Jefferson Electric Co-Op, retiring in 1993. He had formerly worked in building construction.

He was a member of McLouth United Methodist Church, Larner-Segraves American Legion Post #36, Oskaloosa and a former member of Williams-Kesinger Post #393, McLouth. “Deak” also served 15 years as a volunteer driver for McLouth area Meals on Wheels.

He married Juanita Marie Kimberlin on November 25, 1959 at McLouth, Juanita survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, Gregory K. Herries, McLouth, Richard (Kimberly) Herries, Eudora, and two grandsons, Zachary Herries and Nathanial Herries, both of Eudora. He was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Fowler.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at McLouth United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors at McLouth Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 16 at the Church.
