Roselee Smith, 71, of Atchison, Kansas, passed from this life Friday, August 11, 2023 at Atchison Senior Village.

Roselee was born June 10, 1952, in White Cloud, KS, the daughter of Charles David Blakley and Elizabeth Jane (Staines) Blakley. She graduated from Weston High School.

She married Ernest J. Smith, Sr., on July 21, 1973, in Atchison, Kansas, and they shared over thirty years together until his passing on September 30, 2006.

Roselee was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church in Atchison, where she ran the church nursery for seventeen years; she later joined Crossroads Chapel in Rushville. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother to her family. She had a knack for working on puzzles, enjoyed travelling and camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Paul (Tracy) Smith, Charles (Melissa) Smith; Donna (Tom) Earl, Jewel Reese; a brother, Bill Blakley; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie Smith, Sr.; a sister, Almeda White; and a son, Ernie Smith, Jr.

Services to celebrate and remember Roselee- life will be Monday, August 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Silva as officiant. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will gather with friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, Aug. 13th from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to the Crossroads Chapel in care of the funeral home.
