Nancy Ann Thummel, 52, of Topeka, KS formerly of Atchison, KS died on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Midland Hospice House, Topeka, KS.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Friday, Aug. 18th, 2023, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Marty Reed, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, Aug. 17th, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Brain Tumor Society or the Midland Hospice House and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Nancy was born on April 26, 1971, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Jimmy C. and Mary Jo Ann (Turpin) Foster. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1989. She received her LPN certificate from NEKS Area Vo-Tech, Atchison, her associate degree from Sanford Brown College, her Registered Nurse Degree, and her Master of Nursing and Health Administration Degrees from University of Phoenix. Nancy worked as an RN at the Atchison Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, had volunteered at the Salvation Army, and enjoyed creating wreaths and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was married to Dennis J. Thummel on April 13, 2002. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2017. Survivors include a son Brandon (Heather) Thummel, Atchison, KS, three daughters Miranda Thummel, Garnett, KS, Chelsea Thummel, Atchison, KS, and Destiny Thummel, of the home in Topeka, KS., a brother John (Shelley) Foster, Pryor, OK, and a sister Angela (Kevin) Smith, Mountain Home, AR, six grandchildren and two grand dogs. Her parents and husband Dennis preceded her in death.
