LENNEY EUGENE HICKMAN (77) died at his home in Acworth, GA on August 19, 2023 after a short stay in hospice. He was born September 5, 1945, in Holton, KS to Clifford Francis Hickman and Adeline “Addie” LeVeta Bottom Hickman.

Lenney married Arlena Joy Kemp on April 2, l964. To this union one son Terry Allen Hickman was added on September 14, 1964.

Lenney attended Enterprise Academy in Enterprise, KS for his high school activities. Then his freshman year of college was spent at Andrews University before transferring to Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS where he graduated with a college degree in Accounting in 1968. Upon graduation he went to work for Cities Service Oil Company in Bartlesville, OK. After 1 year the company moved their headquarters to Tulsa, OK. He and Arlena were both employed at this time. After 16 years the company (after selling out to several other companies) moved their offices to Atlanta, GA where he retired in 2003. Upon retirement, he worked on his personal accounting and thoroughly enjoyed doing it.

Lenney was preceded in death by 2 daughters-in-law Mary Christina “Chris” Feverston Hickman and Adelaide “Addie” Mary Daniska Hickman; his parents Clifford Francis and Adeline “Addie” LeVeta Bottom Hickman; parents-in-law James Fredrick and Zata Esma Cook Kemp; 2 sets of grandparents Lenneaus “McKinley” and Verta Alberta McDaniel Bottom, and Sidney and Lillie Bennett Kemp; 2 brothers-in law Wallace “Dene” Johnson and James Robert (JR) Harris, 2 sisters-in-law LeAnna G Imhoff Hickman and Marilyn “Mickey” Jean George Kemp.

Lenney is survived by his wife of their home in Acworth, GA; his son Terry Allen Hickman of Lebanon, OH; 2 brothers Gary Lain Hickman (Loraine Thompson) of Fort Pierce, FL, and Michael “Kin” Hickman of Oskaloosa, KS; 2 step grandchildren Anthony Paul Gomez (Jessica Solorzano) and Angela Denise Back (Tim Back) of Cincinnati, OH and 3 great grandchildren Alyssa Grace Back, Tyler James Back and Maria Valentina Gomez; 2 sisters-in-law Lillie Pearl Kemp Johnson and Wanda Mae Kemp Harris; 2 brothers-in-law James “Vernon” Kemp and Donald Lee Kemp; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Bucks Grove Cemetery, in rural Havensville. The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 P.M.
