Mark Allen Ragan, 62, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at home in rural Oskaloosa with his loving family at his side.

He was born October 27, 1960 at Kansas City, KS, the son of Maurice Edward, Sr, and Beatrice Marcella Chontos Ragan. He attended Oskaloosa public elementary school. Mark worked at various jobs in his younger years. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church of the Mooney Creek Community. Mark enjoyed his family and many activities including casinos, pow-wows, concerts, movies, church picnics, Elvis music, traveling and many family dinners. Mark was the brightest light to his sister and brothers.

Mark is survived by one sister, Mary Beth Himpel, Tonganoxie, three brothers, Maurice E. Ragan, Jr, Nortonville, Daniel “Dan” Ragan, Oskaloosa and Tom (Jodi) Ragan,Oskaloosa, a sister -in-law, Dorothy Ragan, Easton, and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Ragan and Robert “Bob” Ragan.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Visitation will be an hour before service, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
