Charlene Bernice Jahn, 85, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 19, 2023 at Falls City. She was born June 18, 1938 at Emma, MO to Henry and Selma (Roscher) Wieting.

Charlene- family moved to Bloomfield, NE in 1943 and then to Staplehurst, NE in 1947. She was confirmed in April of 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Staplehurst. The family later moved to Falls City in 1952 and she graduated from Falls City High School in 1956.

She married William “Bill” Jahn on August 19, 1956 at Falls City. To this union three children were born; William “Bill” in 1958, Kim in 1960 and Mike in 1962.

Charlene worked for Drs. Heins and Farmer from 1967 to 1969. In 1969 she went to work for Miller-Monroe Company. She retired in 2003 as a licensed insurance agent. She was one of the charter members of the Mrs. Jaycees, where she served as the fourth President from 1963 to 1964. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, spending time with friends and reading. She read hundreds of novels.

Charlene is survived by her children, Bill Jahn and his wife Nancy Vice of Lincoln, NE, Kim McGinnis and her husband Paul Gransee of Scottsbluff, NE, Mike Jahn of Falls City, sister, Pat Hahn and her husband Richard of Omaha, NE, grandchildren, Tiffany (Joe) Brown, Rachel (Tony) Johnson, Aaron McGinnis, Celia McGinnis, Michael “Tony” (Lindsey) Jahn, Nicholas (Crystal) Jahn and Richard (Kysha) Emmerling, great-grandchildren, Maya, Alayna & Kasen Brown, Kennedy, Landon and Xander Johnson, Havoc McGinnis and Lucian Emmerling and Avery. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill in February of 2012, brothers, Robert and Richard Wieting and sisters, Evelyn Nierman and Gladys Bolton.

Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend Ken Humphry officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
