Judy Ann Powell, age 77, of Atchison, Kansas, died September 11, 2023 at her residence.

A service for friends and family to remember her life will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Noon at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Vernon Cemetery next to her parents. Cremation care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Judy Potts was born on April 2, 1946, in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of John and Mary (Jones) Potts. She graduated from Montebello High School. She was married to Jim Powell, he preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Tiner.

She is survived by her two sons, Darryl Polk, and Eric Polk; grandchildren, Caleb Polk, Cassidy Polk, Ryan Polk; great grandchildren, Hudson Polk, Nixon Polk, Nolan Polk; a sister, Cheryl Deaton; and numerous other extended family members.

Judy had many hobbies and interests including bowling, dancing, reading books and watching movies. She enjoyed cooking and was always on the hunt for new recipes to whip up. She found great joy in cooking her family- favorite meals and would do so regularly. She was a talented gardener, she loved fresh flowers and kept numerous potted plants around her patio and in her home. Judy loved to travel; her favorite destinations were South Carolina and Louisiana. She will be remembered and missed by her family and friends.
