Robert “Bob” Jones, age 74, of Effingham, KS, died on October 6, 2023, at his home.

A visitation for friends and family will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Services to celebrate and remember Bob- life will be Saturday, Oct. 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Bob was born on September 22, 1949, in Atchison, KS, the son of Harry and Zona (Winchell) Jones. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1968, and began his employment career with L.F.M. He joined the United States Army on August 5, 1970, to serve in Vietnam until his honorable discharge on February 22, 1972. Upon returning from the service, he returned to the workforce at L.F.M. where he worked for a total of forty-two years, until retiring as the Transportation Supervisor.

He had so many things he enjoyed about life, especially hunting, fishing, gambling with his sunglasses on and spending as much time as possible with his family and friends. Bob never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by many.

He adored his wife, Frances “San” (Blevins) Jones; they were married on March 3, 1971, at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK. Additional survivors include his children, Christy Jones, Weaubleau, MO; Timothy (Patty) Jones, Loxley, AL; Micheal (Karen) Jones; Troy, KS; brothers, Henry (Nona) Jones, Clarkridge, AR; Norman (June) Jones, Atchison, KS; sisters, Ethel (Faye) Miller, Huron, KS; Opal Reynolds, Merrill, KS; Anna (Larry) Holmberg, Osceola, MO; eight grandchildren, Levi (Shauna) Jenkins; Lacey Winterscheidt; Baileigh (Colin) Staples; Austin Jones; Kenneth (Courtney) Jones; Trey Jenkins; Chance Jones; Lucas Jones; two great grandchildren, Caspian Jones; Cain Jones and one on the way; and he was loved by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Sonny, Donald, Herb, Harry and Wayne Jones.
