Kristen Bailey Mellenbruch, 35, of Holton, KS, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023. She was born June 25, 1988 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of John and Sharon (Kathrens) Hochard.

Kristen graduated from Holton High School in 2007 and earned her Bachelor- Degree from Ottawa University.

She presently was a scientist for Colgate Palmolive, studying and producing enhancements towards microbiome improvement.

Kristen was a loving mother, daughter, sister and granddaughter. She was a committed friend and always a shoulder to lean on. She loved animals and the outdoors. She shared this love with her daughter and they spent most weekends together outside doing different things.

Survivors include her parents, John and Sharon Hochard of Holton, KS; her daughter, Piper Mellenbruch of the home; brother, Bryon Hochard (Roetta) of Blue Springs, MO; nephew, Bruce Hochard; niece, Blair Hochard and paternal grandfather, Wayne Hochard of Wetmore, KS.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Janice Kathrens and paternal grandmother, Emily Hochard.

Memorial Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Holton Cemetery.
