Robert "Bob" Bruce, 86, of St Joseph, MO passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at a local health care facility.

He was born March 24, 1937 in Junction City, KS, son of Geraldine and Robert Thomas Bruce. Bob enlisted in the US Navy, where he served on the USS Forrest Sherman during the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Navy after 18 years of service. Bob later worked at Crown Center as an Engineer.

His hobbies included fishing, and he was a classic car enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by mother, Geraldine Bruce, father, Robert Thomas Bruce, son, Freddie Bruce, brothers, William and Bernard Bruce and sister, Betty Stepp.

Survivors include children, Joanne White of St. Joseph, Anita (Greg) Chambers of St Joseph, Roberta Lloyd of Leavenworth, KS, Robert Bruce, Jr. of Texas, Sarah Nolls of Nortonville, KS, and Benjamin Bruce of Leavenworth, KS, sister, Beverly Wannebo of Tacoma, WA, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews..

Mr. Bruce has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. An Inurnment with Military Honors will be 2:30 pm Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association. Online condolences, obituary at www.ruppfuneral.com.
