Yvonne Jean Negonsott, 80, of Reserve, formerly of Hiawatha and Horton, passed away October 29, 2023 at the Sabetha Manor where she had been a resident for nearly three years.

She was born June 27, 1943, at Horton, Kansas, one of seven children born to Isaac and Jane Pelkey Shuckahosee, Sr. and has lived in the Brown County area nearly all of her life.

Yvonne was a member of the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska.

Before retiring for health reasons, she worked for the Sac & Fox Casino of Powhattan in the surveillance department.

Survivors include four daughters: Karen Lewis of Princeton, KY, Kathy (Brian) Fralier of Eddyville, KY, Sandra (Ronald) Keo of Horton, Donna Ramierz of Hiawatha; three sons: Kerry Wimberly of Princeton, KY, Jeff Negonsott of Horton, Shane Negonsott of Mayetta, KS, 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings: Lucille Shuckahosee, Sophie Shuckahosee, Isaac Shuckahosee, Jr., Corbin Shuckahosee, Bernice Shuckahosee Levier, Sonny Shuckahosee and grand-daughter Victoria Robinson.

The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha. The family will go in procession to Hiawatha Cemetery for a graveside service to follow at 10 a.m.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. until 6 Tuesday evening.
