Raymond Paul Coots, 82, of Hiawatha, Kansas passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his daughter- home in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was born on March 1, 1941 in Horton, Kansas the son of Edgar and Julia White Coots. After graduating from Horton High School Raymond went on to work as a mechanic for Shawnee Transportation. After he retired he enjoyed restoring houses in the Horton area. Raymond was a member of St. Leo- Catholic Church, enjoyed coaching little league football, fishing, hunting and watching NFL football. On June 30, 1962 he married Catherine Guilliams, she preceded him in death. He then married Rosie Dalsing on April 14, 2018.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Coots of the home; daughters, Angela (Brett) Hollister of Horton, Kansas and Elizabeth (Michael) Robbins of Kansas City, Missouri; sons, Kelly (Jennifer) Coots of Belton, Missouri, Eric (Lisa) Coots of Hiawatha, Kansas, Kyle (Amanda) Coots of Perry, Iowa and Ryan (Maagan) Coots of Belton, Missouri; sisters, Mildred Miller of Clinton, Missouri, Evelyn Landon, Teresa Hayes and Mary Jane Robinson all of Topeka, Kansas; brothers, Terrence Coots and Richard Coots both of Atchison, Kansas and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons, James Coots and Keven Coots, grandchildren, Sarah Hollister and Anthony Coots and two brothers, Harold and Thomas Coots.

A rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the St. Leo- Catholic Church in Horton with the funeral mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. The family will greet friends from 9:30 A.M. until the rosary at the church. Burial will be at the St. Peter- Catholic Cemetery in Mercier, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the St. Leo- Catholic Church and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
