Alberta Ann Garner, 86, of Holton, KS, passed away peacefully Friday, November 3, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 25, 1937 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Henry Wallace and Anna Mary (Dietz) Pinger.

She graduated from Topeka High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation she took to the role as homemaker. In her spare time, she could be found gardening, or caring for animals. She was licensed in wildlife rehabilitation thru the state of Kansas. Alberta also participated in the Holton Bowling League for many years.

Alberta married William Leroy Garner on July 26, 1956 in Topeka, KS. They celebrated nearly 29 years of marriage before his passing on June 23, 1985. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, George Wallace “Wally” and Charles Edwin “Butch” Pinger; a grand-daughter, Jessie McKee; and a great-granddaughter, Natalie Garner.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Lena Garner of Willis, KS, Sharon Pyles (Ben) of Topeka, KS, and Linda Morfitt (Lonnie) of Whiting, KS; a son, Troy Garner (Claudia) of Larkinburg, KS; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Private Family inurnment at a later date will be at Larkinburg Cemetery. A guestbook is available to be signed at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
