Gerald W. “Jerry” Joyce, 77, of Denton, KS, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Bendena, KS, with Father Jeremy Heppler, OSB as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Bendena, KS. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. Jerry was born November 21, 1945, in Denton, KS, the son of John and Lucille (Kout) Joyce. He was a farmer his whole life. Jerry was member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Bendena, KS, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed going to his grandkids sporting events and working on the farm.

Jerry married Jean Ann “Jeanie” Dittemore on December 27, 1966; she preceded him on February 12, 2017. Survivors include a son Marty and wife Amy Joyce, Denton, KS, a daughter, Anne and husband Ric Baird, Silverlake, KS, a brother, John Joyce, St. Joseph, MO, eight grandchildren, Blake (Brook), Cole, Keenan (Logan), Ella Baird, Wade (Jacy), Emma, Abby, Sam Joyce, one great grandchild, Clyde Joyce.

He was also preceded by his parents and two sisters, Rosemary Dodge and Dorothy Miller.
