Steven Shipman, who most knew by and called “Shippy” of Atchison, Kansas, died December 23, 2023 at Amberwell Atchison.

A visitation Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 5:30 until 7:00 P.M. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison YMCA or Atchison County Community Schools Education Foundation and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom cremation care has been entrusted.

He was born August 31, 1965 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Thomas Gregory Shipman and Kay Fowler Domann. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School before attending Highland Community College and earned his bachelor degree from Emporia State University.

Shippy owned and operated a construction company and later ran the Milk House Bar where he enjoyed serving his customers a good drink and good fun. He enjoyed golfing, house renovations, cars and especially spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his father, Thomas Shipman, Topeka, KS; his mother, Kay Domann, Lawrence, KS; and brothers, Jon Shipman and Mike Domann.
