Nancy Helen Noble

Nancy Helen Noble, 77, of Mayetta, KS, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 28, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was born July 30, 1946 in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Warren Melvin and Jean Eileen (Gibson) Noble.

Nancy graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1964. She earned her Registered Nursing Degree at Stormont Vail School of Nursing in 1967. In 1981, she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Nursing at Kent State University and her Masters of Arts in Nursing in 1989 at University of Kansas. In 1994, she graduated from University of Kansas with her AARNP (Nurse Practitioner Degree).

Nancy started her career in 1967 working in medical surgery, pediatrics and labor/delivery in Alaska. She worked 7 years in Internal Medicine in Topeka and was Director of Nursing at Community Healthcare Systems at Onaga and Centralia. In 2000, she began working with Dr. David Allen, to help grow the Holton Family Healthcare System and the Holton Family Health Center; retiring in 2015.

Nancy loved her family, patients and coworkers. These were the joy of her life.

She married Allen August Brandes on December 16, 1966 in Topeka, KS. To this union, 2 children were born, Matthew and Melissa Brandes.

On June 30, 1998, Nancy married Gary Lee Knudson in Topeka, KS. They celebrated over 35 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Gary A. of the home; daughter, Melissa M. Brandes of Mayetta, KS; son, Matthew A. A. Brandes (Sandra) of Wellsville, KS; sister, Linda Buttron (Ed) of Nortonville, KS; brother, Edwin Noble (Patricia) of Oskaloosa, KS and sister-in-law, Mary Shupe (Gary) of Holton, KS.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the funeral home. At 12:30 p.m., procession will leave Mercer Funeral Home for burial at Ozawkie Cemetery.
