Judy Lee Armstrong, 80, of Topeka, KS, formerly of Holton, KS, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Midland Care in Topeka. She was born December 10, 1943 in Ft. Bragg, NC, the daughter of Roy and Lelah (Truman) McKinsey.

Judy graduated from Holton High School in 1962; she was proud of her cheerleading and flute during her high school years. She also attended Clarks Business School in Topeka.

She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Topeka for over 24 years in upper management, retiring in1995. After retirement she went to work from1997 - 2014 for Coldwell Banker Real Estate as a realtor.

In her early years, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton and, Job- Daughters. She enjoyed visiting libraries, reading; she usually had a book in her hand. She took much joy in fishing. Judy also loved fresh flowers and was an avid Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan.

Judy married Darrell Harshaw on May 26, 1963 in Holton, KS; they later divorced. She married Lane “Rue” Armstrong on November 26, 2005 in Topeka, KS, he survives of the home. Rue and Judy actually started their friendship in 1957, back in high school.

Survivors include children, Kim Mooers (Marc) of Lenexa, KS, Shelly Harshaw of Overland Park, KS, Kevin Armstrong (Pricilla) of Yorba Linda, CA, Gwin Funk (Trent) of Fredonia, AZ, Deneen Brake (Mike) of Lake Havasue, AZ, Kristina Forshee (Rob) of Boerne, TX and Tricia Pacinelli (Joe) of Littleton, CO; 1 sister, Linda Montgomery (Larry) of Harveyville, KS; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild on the way.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Beck-Bookman Library or to the Topeka Public Library c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
