Lelah Geannene Livengood, 90, Mound City, Missouri died Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Fairfax Community Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri.

Geannene was born April 2, 1934, to Emmett G. and Nellie (Cooper) Vonderschmidt at their farm home West of Craig, Missouri.

She was a graduate of Craig High School. After graduation she went to work as a bookkeeper for the former Noma Lites Corporation in St. Joseph, Missouri.

On February 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Melvin L. Livengood at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Craig. Melvin and Geannene were blessed with three sons; Douglas Von, Keven Lee, and Jeffry Scott.

Geannene was a member of St. Peter's Church until it closed in 2012, due to many floods, after which she attended the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Mound City.

Helping Melvin in the fields and taking care of the boys were her love. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and served as President and Treasurer, many committees, and was a Sunday School Teacher while her boys were young. She also helped with Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary Post 164 of Craig, serving on many committees and offices. She served on the Senior Housing Board for several years.

She loved to keep her grandkids, play cards, games, going to Hardees, and Dairy Queen as they grew up. She attended every event she could, school plays, ball games, band concerts, dance recitals, violin and piano recitals, and rodeos or anything they participated in.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin (2007), a stepmother Emma, a sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Fritz McGinness.

She is survived by her three sons: Douglas (Becky), Mound City, Keven (Becky), Shenandoah, Iowa, Jeffry (Christy), Craig, grandchildren, Nathan, Gena, Kyle (Melissa), Anna (Shomari), Molly (Chris), Oliva, Dusty and Jessica (August), great grandchildren: Trevor, Quinton, Madison, Logan, Paige, Quinn, Reagan, Annakat, Emmaline, Kaylie (Logan), Kaitlyn (Grant), and Scotty, great great grandchildren Jeremiah, Tierney and Tinsley, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a very loving Grandmother (Gran).

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City, Missouri. Family visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. (Odd Fellows) Cemetery, Craig, Missouri.

Memorials may be given to the Holy Trinity Church, 1413 Nebraska St., Mound City, MO 64470 or the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Craig, Missouri.

Arrangements: Schooler Funeral Home, Fairfax/Craig. There is no visitation at the funeral home.
