Robert "Bob" E. Berger, 68, of rural Humboldt, Nebraska was born on November 18, 1956, in Portage, Wisconsin to Elvin and Norma (Hernkind) Berger. He grew up on a dairy farm near Cambria, Wisconsin with his parents and older sister Sharon. Bob graduated from Cambria High School with the class of 1974. He continued working on the dairy farm alongside his father until his father's passing in 1977. Bob moved to Nebraska in 1981 to work for Mark Rippe dairy farm.

In November of 1981, Bob was united in marriage to Cathy Catlett at Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn, Nebraska. To this union two children, Raleigh George and Ginger Ellen. The couple later divorced. Bob was raised in a Wisconsin Synod household becoming a member of Trinity Lutheran in Auburn after his marriage. He later transferred his membership to St. James (Long Branch) Lutheran Church near Elk Creek. Bob worked various jobs in the area over the years. He worked for Missouri Beef in Rockport, Missouri, Kerford Limestone in Weeping Water, Martin-Marietta in Du Bois, and was a chicken hauler for MBA Poultry in Tecumseh. He later worked as an owner/operator for various trucking companies until retiring in 2024.

Bob was a true NFL football fan. He chose to go against the grain and root for the Chicago Bears opposed to his in-division, home state rivals the Green Bay Packers. Over the years living in Nebraska, he has learned to tolerate the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Bob passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Bryan LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 68 years, 4 months and 8 days. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Sharon Wilkinson, and brother-in-law Roger Wilkinson.

Bob is survived by his children: Raleigh Berger of Humboldt, NE; Ginger Lamb and husband Donnie of Humboldt, NE; grandchildren: Drayven, Ayvalie, Emrie and Maxten Lamb all of Humboldt, NE; nephews: Larry Wilkinson, Greg (Jackie) Wilkinson, and Dan (Amber) Wilkinson all of Wisconsin, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at St. James (Long Branch) Lutheran Church in rural Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Eric Spruth-Janssen officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at the St. James (Long Branch) Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska.
