Robert Joseph Schrick

Robert Joseph Schrick, 88, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away surrounded by his family on March 23, 2025.

Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nortonville, Kansas, with Fr. William Dun-Dery officiating the service. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, the day of Mass, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Robert was born on May 27, 1936, the son of Harry and Margaret (Noll) Schrick on a farm in Jefferson County. He was a graduate of Nortonville High School in 1954 and worked at the Corpstein Elevator in Nortonville. He married Therese (T.C.) Chmidling on August 27,1957 at St. Joseph's Church in Nortonville. In 1962, Bob and his brother-in-law, Lindell (Burr) Nolting, established the Nortonville Farmers Supply, which operated for 42 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 70 years, where he served on the finance council and was a member of the Knights of Columbus council. He served as state treasurer of the Lion's Club, on the board of the Winchester Hospital and as Scout Leader for several years. Bob moved to Topeka in January 2014 and became a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors, including pheasant hunting, fishing, camping, boating and campfires with his children and grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his five children, Michael (Jane) Schrick, McKinney, TX, Daniel (Ann) Schrick, Sedwick, KS, C.J. (Susan) Schrick, Kansas City, MO, Rob (Lea Ann) Schrick, Pinehurst, NC, and daughter Mary Alice (Darin) Scheer, Topeka, KS, grandchildren Daniel (Curnutt), Jon, Elizabeth (Taylor), Matthew, Eliot, Stuart, Harris, McKenzie (Nelson), Madison, Marta Schrick, and Carson, Alexa, Cole and Ava Scheer, three great-grandchildren, and sisters Dorothy, Rosella, Sr. Mary Rae, Marian, Marcelline, Bernadine and brother Jim. He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese, sisters Louise Noll, Norma Minor, grandson Andrew Schrick, and his parents.
