Dale LeRoy Royer, 80, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 in Valley Falls, KS at his daughter's home, with family by his side. He was born June 25, 1944 in Horton, KS, the son of Clyde Benjamin and Mary Eliza (Miller) Royer.
Dale graduated from ACCHS in 1962 in Effingham. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1967 - 1969; earning rank of E-5 and inducted into the Order of the Arrow. In 1971, he graduated from K-State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business and Math.
He worked for Blair Milling in Atchitson as a Feed Lot Logistics Manager, he was a teacher for Vo-Tech out of Kansas City, KS at Lansing Prison and to help rehabilitate prisoners back to society. Dale worked in retail management for Litwin's and later in the ordering department for Atchison Leather both in Atchison, KS. He worked in construction for Gantz Drainage Co and later retired from ARC Transportation as dispatcher.
Dale was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church in Meriden and was very active within the church.
He married Benita Louise Dick on April 19, 1975 in Wichita, KS. They celebrated almost 50 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Benita of the home; 8 children, Adam Royer (Heather) of Cottage Grove, MN, Megan Royer of Valley Falls, KS, Lora Royer of Bend, OR, Lisa Royer-Miller (James) of Manhattan, KS, Eric Royer (Kirstin) of Valley Falls, KS, John Royer (Amanda) of Russellville, OH, Emma Royer of Holton, KS and Mark Royer (Paige) of Nortonville, KS; sister, Lois Royer-Starbuck of Chicago, IL and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Royer and a brother, Ralph Royer.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Effingham.
