June Henrietta Woodruff, 81, of Hiawatha, Kansas formerly of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at her apartment in Hiawatha, Kansas. June was born to Oscar Pederson and Kathrine Jacobson Pederson at the Horton Hospital on April 29, 1943. She lived south of Baker, north of Horton until 1950 when the family moved to the Jacobson farm north of Horton. June attended Baker school until the 7th grade, she then attended school in Willis graduating in the class 1961.

She started her own family on June 7, 1963, at the Horton Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. When she married the love of her life Larry Woodruff, sharing 59 years of marriage until his passing in 2022. They shared two beautiful daughters, Lisa and Lori. They were our pride and joy.

During June's life she worked at the Atland Café, Horton Garment Factory and Pat's Thriftway in Horton, prior to going to work for the Jenson Insurance Agency where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2007. Some of June's hobbies were camping with her family, and she and her husband used to love to go dancing together. Thay also enjoyed going to the casinos.

In December 2023 she found out she had stage 4 lung cancer with only months to live. But our God blessed us with making some extra memories until she went to be with the love of her life Larry.

June is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Steve) Winter and Lori May. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren: Karl (Pam) Gaskell; Isabelle, Austin, Owen. Kristie (Cory) Baker; Emaleigh, Josie, Ethan. Chelsie (Jason) Rice; Ryder, Thayer, Sawyer. Lindsey (Ben) Hawk; Harper & Snyder. Sarah; Teigan. Taylor (Daniel); Keenan, Kierah & Isaiah. Sister, Shirley Krebs & Sister-in-law; Norma Pederson and other cousins, nieces and nephews and their families and a special friend, Myrna Russ. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Pete Pederson, Norman Pederson and Kenneth Pederson that died as a baby, brother-in-law, Clair Krebs and nephew, Tony Pederson.

Friends may sign the guest book at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. June wanted to be buried on their anniversary so a graveside service for June and Larry Woodruff will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Horton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to NEK Hospice or the Missy Newell Cancer fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary
