David Wilton Waggoner, 77, of White Cloud, Kansas, passed away at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, April 15, 2025 surrounded by family.
David was born May 14, 1947 in Highland, to Max and Mary Jane Baker Waggoner. He went to school in White Cloud, and Highland.
David married Deborah Blanton of White Cloud. They have been married 60 years. They lived and raised their family in White Cloud.
David is survived by his wife Debby of the home, children: Shawn (Kelly) Waggoner of Eagle, Nebraska, Kevin (Bobbi) Waggoner of Hiawatha, Steven (Sonya) Waggoner of White Cloud, Staci (Brad) Scott of Hiawatha and grandson Brittain Waggoner of the home, along with 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Surviving also are his siblings: Dixie (Bill deceased) Rayburn of Worthington, Indiana, Jerry (Donna) Waggoner of Troy, Kansas, Peggy (Mike deceased) Shores of Kearney, Missouri, Harold (Gaynelle) Waggoner of Franklin, Indiana, Ronnie (Tina) Waggoner of Falls City, Nebraska, Sandy Waggoner of Wathena, Kansas, with many nieces and nephews
David worked at the Chevy Garage in Hiawatha, Whitaker Cable Co in St. Joseph, Missouri and the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska the last 20 years until his retirement.
David enjoyed working on cars, he also enjoyed mowing and yard work. He enjoyed visiting with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David's favorite thing to do was grabbing sandwiches and going to Hiawatha Lake and watching the geese with the love of his life wife Debby.
A celebration of David's life is planned for 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland. Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Monday where the family will meet that afternoon from 1-2 prior to service.
