Gerald Eugene "Jerry" Urban, age 83, of Atchison, Kansas, passed peacefully on May 13, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB, as celebrant. A rosary will be Monday, May 19th, at 5:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Jerry would not want you to send him flowers, so please instead leave memorials to Benedictine College Athletics, MH-MA Athletics or ACCHSEF Athletics. Cremation care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on October 6, 1941, in Atchison, KS, the son of Henry Urban and Helen (Davidson) Urban. He is a graduate of Maur Hill Prep in 1959.

Jerry worked for KPL & Westar until he retired in 2001, after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Benedict Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council #723. He loved sports and watching his grandchildren compete.

Jerry married Bernadette Enzbrenner on July 13, 1963, at Sacred Heart Church in Atchison, and she survives of their home. He is also survived by his children, Brenda (Mark) Brull, Jerry Dean Urban, Scott E. Urban; his brother, Kenny (Mary) Urban; sister-in-law, Becky Urban; four grandchildren, Alex Brull, Kendra Brull, Bethany Urban, Henry Urban; and his five nieces and nephews, Chris Urban, Jeff Urban, Shelly Erhart, Tim Urban and Erin Dunn.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daivd Urban; and all of his former co-workers who have passed, especially his main partner from truck 262, Mike "Moon" Hinson.
