Patricia (Pat) Rose (Peters) Olson, 86, of rural Hiawatha, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Pat was born on September 11, 1938, to John and Blanche (Ptomey) Peters. She grew up in Doniphan County and graduated from Severance High School in 1956. She graduated from Cosmetology School in St Joseph, MO. Pat married Raymond C. Olson on September 1, 1957.
Pat was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Everest, serving in several capacities such as teaching Sunday School and Bible School, and chairing the year-long 100th anniversary celebration. She was a stay-at-home Mom when the boys were growing up keeping busy with her garden, flowers, and cooking delicious meals. She obtained her real estate license and worked for Horton Real Estate and Maximum Realty. Pat started her own business "Traveling Trunk", selling clothes and jewelry to area retirement facilities. She was always up for traveling, shopping trips, trying new things, dressing up, decorating her home, and enjoying all of her "stuff", which she had a flair for putting things together. Pat had fun being a part of the Red Hatters, Jayne & Dough Investment Club, Hiawatha Elks, card clubs, and day trips with "the girls". Her most treasured activities were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include sons David (Janet) Olson, Hiawatha, KS, and Todd (Connie), Overland Park, KS; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Jeremy (Sarah) and Graham Olson, Everest, KS, Taylor, (Hannah) Crew, Atley and Shepherd Olson, St George, KS, Derec (Alexis) and Oliver Olson, Houston, TX, and Carley Olson and fiancée Karam Hamada, Overland Park, KS.; brothers Wayne Peters and Jerry Peters, sister-in-law Dixie Peters, brother-in-law Charles Brunner, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by brothers Frank Peters and Bill Peters, sister-in-law Shirley Brunner, granddaughter Erica Olson, and great-granddaughter Parker Olson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Everest, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary.
