Cynthia Anne "Cindy" Kersley, 69, of Atchison, KS died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home after a fight with cancer.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Elizabeth Carr officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Cindy was born on Feb 11, 1956, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Milton and Louise (Weir) Chew. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1974. She attended Bethany College for two years and the University of Kansas for a year and a half. Cindy had worked in various places and positions including as a probation officer for Atchison Community Corrections. Cindy enjoyed swimming, as a teenager she was a member of the YMCA Swim Team and enjoyed teaching younger kids how to swim. She was a lifeguard at the Lion's Pool for many years. Cindy was a member of the 1973 Atchison High School Volleyball State Championship Team and played for 2 years at Bethany College. Cindy was a former member of PEO and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was married to Michael Kersley on Aug. 4, 1979, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she and her family were long time active members. Survivors include her husband Michael Kersley, Atchison, two daughters Megan (Chris) Lilley, Bonner Springs, KS, and Amy (Justin) Cline, Topeka, KS, six grandchildren Max and Ian Lilley, Lennon, Harper, Rumi, and Rosalyn Cline and a brother Donald (Sally) Chew, Lake Quivira, KS. Her parents preceded her in death.
