Dean Kirkendall, 95, of Falls City, NE, passed away June 30, 2025 at Falls City. He was born November 27, 1929 at Barada, NE to Bennie Leroy and Sophia (Parchen) Kirkendall

He married Patty Maye Bright on April 18, 1948 at Shubert, NE. She passed away February 8, 2010.

Dean was raised at Barada and graduated Barada High School in 1945. Following graduation, he started farming. He farmed and ranched his entire life and moved into Falls City in 2005. He was a member of Barada Global Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting turkey; squirrels; mushrooms and deer. He was a gifted carpenter and built the family home and several farm buildings and also helped remodel the Barada church.

Dean is survived by is daughter, Susie Buethe of Elk Creek, NE, sons, Randy and his wife Renete and Mark of Falls City, nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Jesse, sister, Mary Howard, son-in-law, Bill Buethe and a daughter-in-law, Janice Kirkendall.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Yount officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home

Viewing will begin Thursday afternoon until 7:00 PM and on Friday from Noon until the visitation is complete.
