Harold W. Fischer, 84, of Stella, NE, passed away October 30, 2012 at Falls City, NE. He was born May 14, 1928 north of Falls City to the late William and Martha (Nitzsche) Fischer.

 
He served in the U. S. Army from February 21, 1951 until being honorably discharged in October 22, 1951.
 
On November 19, 1951 he married Mary Lee Duerfeldt at Hiawatha, KS. She passed away November 11, 1980.
 
Harold attended the Fisher School, Fort Hazel Grade School and Rulo High School. He farmed for several years; and also worked for John Deere in many places for 25 years; he also ran the Fischer Repair Shop and retired from Richardson County Department of Roads in l993. After retiring he ran the Fischer Gas Station at Stella for his son, Greg and helped him farm. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20th & Towle St. Falls City.
 
Harold is survived by his son, Jim and his wife Teresa of Granite Falls City, MN, daughters, June Patton and her husband Arley of Wilber, NE, Judy Anderson and her husband Dave of Greeley, CO, Rose Mary Fischer of Tulsa, OK, Debbie Henning and her husband Jim of Dodge City, KS, Kathy Rieschick and her husband Roy of Falls City, sister, Margaret Eichman and her husband Robert of Orange, CT, fourteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Gregory “Fish” Fischer, brother, Laurel Fischer, and a sister, Irene Johansen.
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (20th and Towle) with Reverend Andrew Chavanak officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
