Mildred Viola Wissinger
Holton, KS

Mildred Viola Wissinger, 95, of Holton, formerly of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Medicalodge Jackson County. 

She was born July 4, 1917 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the daughter of Charles Avery and Minnie Rebecca (Hassel) Day. She graduated from Johnstown High School.

Mildred was a comptometer operator for Spear’s Automotive Service and also worked civil service in the office of Litchfield Naval Base both in Phoenix, Arizona.

She married Donald Harvey Wissinger on February 3, 1938 in Cambria, Maryland. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Eugene Wissinger on January 19, 1995 and two brothers, Raymond Francis Day and Clarence Lee Day.

Survivors include a daughter, Jolene Elaine Dunn of Holton; a sister, Shirley Jean Finnigan of Clearfield, Pennsylvania; 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 39 great great grandchildren.

Private family celebration of life will be at a later date. Per her wishes, please no flowers or donations. Inurnment will be in the Klingner – Cope Mausoleum in Springfield, Missouri.
